Consistent Bible reading is a mark of true conversion and essential for growth in grace in the Christian life. But we can also greatly supplement our Bible reading with books written by men and women throughout the history of the Church. Christian books can be life-transforming for us and richly supply our spiritual needs. We must not dare neglect the Bible, but we also shouldn’t dismiss the benefit of reading solid Christian literature.
